Postdoctoral Fellow, Population Genetics/Genomic Data Science

Responsibilities
- Analyze Ancestry’s massive-scale genomic datasets to uncover insights into population structure, demographic history, and genetic relationships.
- Develop novel statistical models and computational methods using advanced Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques to address complex genomic challenges.
- Conduct exploratory research, focusing on progress, identifying clear next steps, and achieving concrete milestones.
- Publish original research in high-impact scientific journals and present findings at top-tier conferences.
- Collaborate with other scientists to integrate research outcomes into the Ancestry DNA product ecosystem, benefiting millions of customers.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Population Genetics, Genomic Data Science, or Machine Learning with relevant experience applying these fields to genomic data.
- Demonstrated expertise in applying and developing sophisticated computational methods.
- Experience with modern AI methods is a plus.
- High proficiency in Python, C, or another language suitable for large-scale data analysis and machine learning.
- A mindset for critical thinking and innovation, with a track record of showing results and progress in an exploratory mode.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex genomics and statistical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This role offers a flexible schedule, allowing employees to work from home, in the office, or a combination of both, subject to location restrictions and role requirements.
