Postdoctoral Fellow In Adult ADHD Clinical Practice

Seattle Children’s post-doctoral fellowship is part of an NIMH-funded clinical trial exploring real-world cognitive-behavioral therapy applications for adults with ADHD.

About the role

The post-doctoral fellow will serve in a clinical capacity on a multidisciplinary team conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for adults self-referring for possible ADHD. The fellow will also act as a liaison with PSYPACT-credentialed clinical psychologists nationwide, providing training and consultation on delivering cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to adults with ADHD. Responsibilities include co-leading clinician trainings on CBT and motivational interviewing for ADHD, and participating in weekly drop-in sessions to support psychologists implementing these therapies.

While the primary focus is on developing independent clinical assessment and treatment skills for adults with ADHD, opportunities for collaborative research projects are available if desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for adults with possible ADHD as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Serve as a liaison with PSYPACT-credentialed clinical psychologists across the country, providing training and consultation on CBT for adults with ADHD.
• Co-lead clinician trainings on cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing for ADHD.
• Participate in weekly drop-in sessions to support psychologists in implementing CBT for adults with ADHD.
• Engage in collaborative research projects, if interested.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree (PhD, DVM, MD, or equivalent) in clinical psychology, professional counseling psychology, social work, medicine, or a related field from an accredited university training program.
• Experience using basic research techniques in the specialty area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience conducting research in the pediatric arena.
• Experience in protocol and manuscript development and grant writing.

Pay

$80,172 per year (based on full-time employment of 2,080 hours per calendar year). Offers may vary within this range depending on equity, skills, experience, and expertise.

Schedule

This is a full-time fellowship expected to last at least two years and up to four and a half years, with clinical supervision provided by licensed clinical psychologists throughout the period.
