Postdoctoral Associate - Schmidt Center

Description

The Schmidt Center’s mission is to create the theoretical, computational and algorithmic paradigms that will enable us to understand the programs of life and how they connect across scales, from proteins to cells to tissues and organisms. The Schmidt Center is located within the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard - a world-leading non-profit research organization dedicated to better understanding the roots of disease and narrowing the gap between new biological insights and impact for patients in an interdisciplinary manner.

Requirements

• A CV and a cover letter, which may include potential avenues of collaboration and supervision by Broad-, MIT- or Harvard-affiliated faculty
• A research statement of up to three pages, including references (this can be focused on research thus far, and need not be biomedical in nature)
• Names and email addresses of three or more individuals who will provide letters of recommendation

Qualifications

• Ph.D. (expected or obtained) in Computer Science, Engineering, (Bio)Statistics, or a related field
• 0-1+ years of experience within the field
• Strong analytical and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively describe scientific material to both specialized and lay audiences
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment and commitment to participating in Schmidt Center activities
