About the role
The Laboratory of Neurotrauma Research at Virginia Tech is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate with expertise in Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology, TBI/SCI or Immunology.
Responsibilities
- Work on an interdisciplinary research project focused on murine models of brain injury and innate immune regulation.
- Investigate neuroinflammation, cell signaling pathways, single cell RNAseq and targeted genetics.
- Collaborate with additional team members in the VT-School of Neuroscience, Fralin Life Science Institute, and The Center for Neurotrauma Research.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field, awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
- Expertise in animal surgery and brain tissue processing, flow cytometry, RNA expression analysis, stereology, and confocal imaging.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with qPCR, Western blot analysis, single cell microbead isolation, and tissue culture.
- Publishation record in peer-reviewed journals.
