About the role
The Avgousti lab at the University of Miami is seeking a full-time Post Doctoral Associate to perform scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. The position involves promoting institutional recognition through contributions to the scientific community.
Responsibilities
- Performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff.
- Promotes institutional recognition through contributions to the scientific community.
- Develops independent research ideas combining chromatin biology and molecular virology.
- Contributes to the advancement of basic understanding of viral manipulation of chromatin and uncovering new aspects of chromatin biology and virus infection.
- Identifies new therapeutic targets and develops innovative strategies to combat disease.
Requirements
- Ph.D. required.
- No prior experience required.
Qualifications
- Motivated and enthusiastic post-docs interested in developing independent research ideas combining chromatin biology and molecular virology.
- A record of productive research (at least one first-author publication).
- Knowledge and experience in biochemistry or molecular biology.
- Valued if having experience in virology or chromatin.
Skills
- Strong interest in basic mechanistic discovery and translation to therapy.
