About the role

The Avgousti lab at the University of Miami is seeking a full-time Post Doctoral Associate to perform scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. The position involves promoting institutional recognition through contributions to the scientific community.

Responsibilities

• Performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff.
• Promotes institutional recognition through contributions to the scientific community.
• Develops independent research ideas combining chromatin biology and molecular virology.
• Contributes to the advancement of basic understanding of viral manipulation of chromatin and uncovering new aspects of chromatin biology and virus infection.
• Identifies new therapeutic targets and develops innovative strategies to combat disease.

Requirements

• Ph.D. required.
• No prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Motivated and enthusiastic post-docs interested in developing independent research ideas combining chromatin biology and molecular virology.
• A record of productive research (at least one first-author publication).
• Knowledge and experience in biochemistry or molecular biology.
• Valued if having experience in virology or chromatin.

Skills

• Strong interest in basic mechanistic discovery and translation to therapy.
