About the role
The Modeling Equitable and Accessible Spaces for Everyone (M-EASE) project in the Department of Psychology and Center for Cognitive Science is seeking a post-doctoral associate for an NSF-funded project on the social, environmental, and linguistic factors that affect human wayfinding. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with the PI and co-PIs in computer science, psychology, applied math, and architecture/design to contribute to the research's conceptualization, design, performance, analysis, and modeling of VR experiments, as well as manuscript preparation.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the conceptualization, design, and performance of VR experiments
- Collaborate on the analysis and modeling of experimental results
- Prepare manuscripts for publication
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in cognitive psychology, cognitive science, computer science/engineering, language sciences, or a related field
- Strong quantitative and programming skills
- Experience with virtual reality development, machine learning, or advanced data analyses and modeling is highly desirable
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Interest in interdisciplinary research
Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB
- Experience with virtual reality software and hardware
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
- Advanced data analysis and modeling skills
