Postdoctoral Associate - M-EASE project

About the role

The Modeling Equitable and Accessible Spaces for Everyone (M-EASE) project in the Department of Psychology and Center for Cognitive Science is seeking a post-doctoral associate for an NSF-funded project on the social, environmental, and linguistic factors that affect human wayfinding. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with the PI and co-PIs in computer science, psychology, applied math, and architecture/design to contribute to the research's conceptualization, design, performance, analysis, and modeling of VR experiments, as well as manuscript preparation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the conceptualization, design, and performance of VR experiments
• Collaborate on the analysis and modeling of experimental results
• Prepare manuscripts for publication

Requirements

• A doctoral degree in cognitive psychology, cognitive science, computer science/engineering, language sciences, or a related field
• Strong quantitative and programming skills
• Experience with virtual reality development, machine learning, or advanced data analyses and modeling is highly desirable

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Interest in interdisciplinary research

Skills

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB
• Experience with virtual reality software and hardware
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
• Advanced data analysis and modeling skills
