The MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to work on advanced plasma diagnostic systems for magnetic fusion experiments, with a focus on plasma reflectometry and millimeter-wave technologies. This includes systems for the SPARC tokamak.
- Design, test, and operate millimeter-wave and reflectometry systems for plasma measurements
- Develop data acquisition and analysis tools
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at MIT and partner institutions
- Contribute to publications and conference presentations
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field
- Knowledge of fusion-grade plasma physics
- Strong experimental, analytical, and programming skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment
- Hands-on experience with microwave or millimeter-wave systems (preferred)
- Experience with RF electronics or plasma diagnostics (preferred)
