Working under the direct supervision of the MOD Specialist, this transitional role combines high-touch event coordination, hands-on AV support, and peer leadership. What You’ll DoTechnical & Administrative Event Coordination (40%): Serve as the operational link between Campus Events and IT. Consult with event hosts, translate their vision into precise technical specs (audio, projection, hybrid/livestream workflows), and submit support tickets for seamless execution.On-Site Operations & Event Triage (40%): Provide a welcoming, high-touch presence at campus events as "technical emotional support" for presenters. Assist with slide setups, microphones, and media, while providing immediate troubleshooting or escalating complex issues.Student Leadership & Inventory Support (20%): Help schedule, deploy, and mentor student AV technicians for event setups and classroom checks. Assist with media inventory management, equipment turnover, and routine room audits. Minimum Requirements Education: Recent graduate of Kenyon College (graduated within the last 0–12 months).Experience: Active involvement or student leadership within Kenyon’s student AV group, campus media production, theater tech, or a campus student-manager role strongly preferred.Technical Skills: Familiarity with basic AV setup, media equipment, video conferencing platforms (Zoom/Teams), and general productivity applications. Working Conditions While our IT team enjoys flexible hours and hybrid capability, this role is primarily on-site to support active campus events:Environment: Primary work is active, on-site support across learning, meeting, and event venues, balanced with desk-based operations. Schedule: Standard part-time working hours with regular requirements for early morning, evening, or pre-scheduled weekend coverage.Physical Demands: Active physical support requiring transportation with equipment carts, working from ladders or tight technical spaces, and lifting, transporting, or positioning equipment up to 50 lbs.
