Post Quantum Cryptography Engineer
Work alongside cryptographers, mathematicians, and physicists in support of quantum information sciences. Use systems architecture, network engineering, or software development skill sets to implement post-quantum cryptography (PQC) solution architectures across a variety of reference architectures. Focus on transitioning products, systems, and environments to post-quantum standards. Apply comprehension of operating system environments and network configuration to analyze and develop advanced methodologies that promote cutting-edge PQC analysis. Leverage cybersecurity expertise to perform procedures ensuring the safety of information system assets and protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Oversee, evaluate, and support documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation processes to comply with information assurance (IA) and security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Implement post-quantum cryptography (PQC) solution architectures across various reference architectures
- Transition products, systems, and environments to post-quantum standards
- Analyze and develop advanced methodologies for PQC using operating system environments and network configuration knowledge
- Ensure the safety of information system assets and protect systems from unauthorized access or destruction
- Oversee, evaluate, and support documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation processes for IA and security compliance
- Develop technical documentation to support accreditation efforts in information security, systems, and network security
- Lead and manage small projects
- Evaluate trust architectures and cryptographic approaches
- Collaborate with a broad audience, including cryptographers, mathematicians, and physicists
Requirements
- Experience as a PQC scientist or engineer
- Experience leading and managing small projects
- Experience evaluating trust architectures and cryptographic approaches
- Experience with software development, cybersecurity, or network engineering
- Experience with programming in Python, Rust, or C++, and low-level programming concepts
- Knowledge of secure network protocols, public key infrastructure, and related services
- Ability to develop technical documentation for accreditation efforts
- Ability to work collaboratively with a broad audience
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud architectures and key management strategies
- Experience with Linux and Windows fundamentals
- Experience with hardware Trusted Compute architectures
- Experience implementing and maintaining security controls across server-based environments
- Experience with digital forensics, secure software development, or penetration testing
- Knowledge of cybersecurity risk management processes and governance, risk, and compliance strategies and tools
- Demonstrated contributions to cryptographic standards or papers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex concepts

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work models include:
- Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as required by the role.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.
Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
