About the Role

Use systems architecture, network engineering, or software development skill sets to implement post-quantum cryptography (PQC) solution architectures across a variety of reference architectures. Work on transitioning products, systems, and environments to post-quantum standards. Analyze the development of advanced methodologies to promote cutting-edge analysis of PQC using comprehension of operating system environments and network configuration. Leverage cybersecurity expertise to perform all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information system assets and protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Oversee, evaluate, and support the documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation processes necessary to comply with information assurance (IA) and security requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience as a PQC scientist or engineer
  • Experience leading and managing small projects
  • Experience evaluating trust architectures and cryptographic approaches
  • Experience with software development, cybersecurity, or network engineering
  • Experience with programming in Python, Rust, or C++ and low-level programming concepts
  • Knowledge of secure network protocols software, public key infrastructure, and the services that use them
  • Ability to develop technical documentation to support accreditation efforts using information security, including systems and network security
  • Ability to convey complex concepts and work collaboratively with a varied audience
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud architectures and key management strategies
  • Experience with Linux and Windows fundamentals
  • Experience with hardware Trusted Compute architectures
  • Experience implementing and maintaining security controls across server-based environments
  • Experience with digital forensics, secure software development, or penetration testing
  • Knowledge of the cybersecurity risk management process and governance, risk, and compliance strategies and tools
  • Ability to demonstrate contributions to cryptographic standards or papers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

Work models include:

  • Remote: Generally virtual with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with possible visits to customer facilities, aligned with leadership expectations and role needs.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
