What You’ll Do
- Development, integration, and responsibility of hand finishing/deburring/support removal, wet and dry blasting and media finishing of critical aerospace additively manufactured parts
- Program and operate Wire EDM machines for part removal and component sectioning as needed
- Implementation and process development including fixturing
- Work from and read blueprints as well as setting and checking work to various quality control gages with a high attention to detail
- Understanding of all part finishing techniques and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Absolutely measure parts using applicable tools and software and reporting results
- Review work instruction for additional information and special needs
- Responsible for working in compliance with all Quality Management Systems
- Confer with engineering and manufacturing team members to exchange technical information
- Complete all necessary documentation, electronic data entries and communications accurately and timely
- Understand written instructions and communicate those instructions to others
- Move all materials, either physically or mechanically, necessary to complete assignments
- Adhere to and follow all company safety policies and procedures to assure commitment to 100% safe work environment.
You Have
- A High School diploma or GED
- 2 years metal finishing experience, preferred
- Proficient in shop math, including geometry and conversions
- Ability to work in a team-based collaborative environment
- Understanding of machine tools (hand tools, power tools, band saws, etc.)
- Basic understand of heat-treatment fundamentals
- Some daily and weekend overtime may be required
- Able to lift, carry and move up to 45 pounds unassisted
- Able to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, stretch, and crouch
- Able to wear PPE as required (to include safety shoes, hearing, eye, and respiratory protection)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Physical Requirements
- Remain in a standing or sitting stationary position for 5-6 hours per day (1-2 hours at one time)
- Move about 5-6 hours per day (1-2 hours at one time)
- Occasionally lift or carry between 26 - 45 pounds, and frequently lift or carry up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally push or pull between 26 - 45 pounds, and frequently push or pull up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally reach at or below shoulder level, in addition to reaching overhead
- Occasionally use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls
- Occasionally bend, stoop, or twist
- Occasionally crouch, kneel, and squat
- Frequently keyboard
- Occasionally climb stairs / ladders
- Effectively communicate in person and via telephone or other electronic devices.
