About the Role
The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland (Legal Aid) invites applications from third-year law students (graduating in 2027) and individuals completing judicial clerkships in 2027 who are interested in pursuing post-graduate public interest fellowships. Selected applicants will receive Legal Aid’s support as a host organization for competitive fellowship programs, including the Skadden Fellowship, the Ohio Access to Justice Foundation Fellowship, and Equal Justice Works Fellowships. Applicants with a strong interest in any area of civil law serving low-income individuals and vulnerable populations are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited law school in 2027 or completion of a judicial clerkship in 2027
- Commitment to public service and advancing access to justice
- Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Initiative and strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with low-income communities
- Spanish language proficiency
