About the role

The University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for one two-year Postdoctoral Research Scholar position at the HARP Lab (Human Factors, AI, Risk, and Privacy Lab). The candidate will work with Dr. Grace Fox and members of her interdisciplinary team at UCF and collaborate with academic partners within UCF and internationally. The candidate will work on several collaborative projects and funding proposals related to the research areas of focus at the HARP lab including cybersecurity, privacy, artificial intelligence, risk, trust, and human behavior. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct empirical behavioral research using mixed methods, qualitative and quantitative research designs including interviews, focus groups, surveys, and experiments.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Publish in leading conferences and journals across various disciplines.
  • Contribute to grant proposal development.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers.
  • Work with Dr. Fox and her team to manage project milestones, participate in team meetings, lead and contribute to the dissemination of findings across several projects in collaboration with graduate students and faculty collaborators in UCF and internationally.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, writing, and research skills, initiative, strong time management and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently and as a research team member.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. degree from an accredited educational institution in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Psychology, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience conducting and publishing research in one or more areas related to privacy and cybersecurity from a behavioral perspective.
  • Experience designing and leading quantitative human factors studies.
  • Record of publishing in well regarded journals/conferences within their field of study.
  • Strong experience in various advanced statistical methods (e.g., HLM, SEM, non-linear dynamical systems).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Future goals of publishing research.
  • Prior experience in designing and conducting research experiments.
  • Experience working on funded projects and proposals.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB).

Salary

Expected salary range: $57,000 to $62,000.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
