About the role
The School of Modeling, Simulation, and Training (SMST) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on research and development for testing, analysis, and integration of AI and machine learning (ML) algorithms in new simulation and training architectures and technologies. The focus will be on high-fidelity simulation environments, software networking bridges, and physical data collection architectures.
Responsibilities
- Lead the C++ / Unreal Engine software engineering efforts, ensuring sub-millisecond data synchronization between simulation frameworks and external Python-based AI models hosted at partner institutions.
- Work on research and development for testing, analysis, and integration of AI and ML algorithms in new simulation and training architectures and technologies.
- Ensure sub-millisecond data synchronization between simulation frameworks and external Python-based AI models hosted at partner institutions.
Requirements
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident is greatly preferred.
- Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Modeling & Simulation, Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related STEM field, from an accredited institution.
- Experience in Unreal Engine, C++ Programming.
Preferred Qualifications
- Unreal Engine, C++ Programming, Systems Integration, Simulation & Training, Network Programming (UDP/TCP/ZeroMQ), API Development, CUDA programming, python programming, Hardware Acceleration, strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for writing research articles and presenting at conferences.
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL), JSON Serialization, Headless Simulation, Python, Ground Vehicle Systems, and Defense M&S.
