Post-doctoral research position in AI/machine learning for analyzes of rodent behavior
About the role
The team MEMORY (INCIA) aims to recruit a postdoctoral researcher to strengthen our research skills in machine learning and deep learning applied to projects related to computational analysis of behavioral datasets obtained from various mouse and rat models of cerebral small vessel diseases.
Responsibilities
- Apply machine learning algorithms to computational analysis of behavioral datasets from rodent models of cerebral small vessel diseases
- Code proposed solutions and integrate them in related research projects
- Use video-tracking recordings to identify particular behavioral postures adopted by rodents facing various behavioral and cognitive challenges
- Provide scalable, unbiased, sensitive methods for revealing the hierarchical structure of behavior
- Work directly with experimenters to validate predictions made by machine-learning models
- Develop user-friendly tools for multiple researchers of the Vascular Brain Health Institute
Requirements
- PhD in Data Science/AI
- Experience in one or more of the following areas, ideally demonstrated through at least one research project or first-author publication: computational biology/bioinformatics or machine learning/computer science
- Strong skills in machine learning algorithms
- Strong written communication skills
- Motivated and independent
Qualifications
- Significant experience in software development, including proficiency in a prototyping language such as Python (strong plus)
- Experience with development and code-sharing tools (plus)
Pay, Schedule & Benefits
- Position is for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding
