About the Role
The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will be responsible for biomechanical lab research projects and will work closely with the lab director, interfacing with other researchers, post-docs, residents, and physicians.
Responsibilities
- Manage, organize, and plan the laboratory’s experimental work in collaboration with the lab director and project principal investigator.
- Design, set up, and conduct various complex experiments related to motion analysis, EMGs, and experimental validation.
- Regularly review scientific literature; evaluate and recommend applicable techniques and procedures.
- Analyze and prepare research outcomes, including PowerPoint presentations, peer-reviewed papers, and abstracts.
- Consult with professional research personnel regarding research design, experimental techniques, instrumentation, and scientific inference from research results.
- Apply knowledge of 3D printing and CAD (desirable).
- Perform statistical analysis for all experiments when needed.
- Conduct evidence-based analysis.
- Participate in grant writing and the writing/submission of peer-reviewed manuscripts.
- Perform related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Doctorate Degree in Science and Engineering preferred; MD or PhD required.
- 2 years’ experience in a professional research laboratory, preferably in the field of clinical biomechanics, gait analysis, musculoskeletal modeling, and experimental design.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of current medical and biomechanical literature and research findings in related research areas.
- Excellent familiarity with computational methods, simulation, and knowledge of mathematical methods/algorithms used in musculoskeletal systems.
- Able to develop tools for the analysis and visualization of biomechanical data.
- Able to solve technical and inter-laboratory problems related to research.
- Ability to prepare and author scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, standard business hours.
