About the role
The Professor Qing Zhou’s research group in the Department of Statistics & Data Science at UCLA invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow focusing on causal machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in causal discovery, causal inference, graphical models, and structure learning.
- Work on sequential decision-making and interventions in dynamic causal systems.
- Develop and apply causal representation learning techniques.
- Apply these methods to computational genomics problems.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field by the start date of the appointment.
Qualifications
- Outstanding research record in causal machine learning.
- Strong background in statistics, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience with causal inference and graphical models.
- Interest in applying causal methods to computational genomics.
Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with data analysis and machine learning tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Benefits
The selected candidate may have the opportunity to teach courses through a split appointment between the postdoctoral position and an Adjunct Assistant Professor position.
Pay
The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
