About the role
The MATEIS laboratory, part of INSA, Lyon, in collaboration with RMS Foundation, is offering a one-year post-doctoral fellowship.
Responsibilities
- Investigate the effect of surface distortions on mechanical properties and Long-Term Degradation (LTD) resistance of Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia Ceramics (Y-TZP).
- Understand the cause and effects of lattice distortions and their relation to mechanical performances and long-term reliability of Y-TZP implants.
Requirements
- PhD in Materials Science, Ceramics, or related field.
- Experience with mechanical surface treatments and characterization of lattice distortions and residual stresses.
- Knowledge of XRD Rietveld refinement and advanced microstructural characterizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of X-ray diffraction (XRD).
- Experience with Rietveld refinement techniques.
- Microstructural analysis using advanced imaging techniques.
- Understanding of mechanical testing methods.
