Post Doctoral Associate

Core Responsibilities

• Credits research on specific areas of study as assigned.
• Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
• Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide range of scientific principles and theories.
• Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
• Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions

• Serves as project coordinator for the Pocket PCIT+AI study, managing day-to-day operations including IRB compliance, participant recruitment and tracking, data management, and coordination across study team members.
• Collaborates with the Principal Investigator and implementation team to develop, refine, and evaluate the Pocket PCIT+AI conversational agent, contributing to content development, usability testing, and iterative improvement cycles.
• Covers study procedures, including participant scheduling, fidelity monitoring, data collection, and adherence to study protocols.
• Provides direct behavioral and developmental intervention services to children ages 0–5 per week, with cases clustered by geographic location to minimize travel; services are delivered in person in homes, childcare centers, and other community settings throughout Miami-Dade County, and via telehealth as appropriate.
• Applies a parent coaching model to build caregiver and/or teacher skills that support generalization of child gains across home, childcare, and community settings; makes appropriate referrals to Part B (special education services) or Part C (early intervention services), or other clinical resources, for children presenting with more complex needs.
• Develops and leads a follow-up study protocol to capture systematic longitudinal outcome data on children served through the Early Discovery program, including measures of school readiness, developmental progress, and grade retention outcomes (one day per week).
• Develops and implements strategies to strengthen family engagement in the program, including screening and referral pathways to community-based family support resources and development of digital tools to extend family engagement between sessions.
• Integrates program outcome data with county-level data systems and collaborates with community partners to establish consistent follow-up procedures and coordinated data reporting; provides flexible program support approximately half a day per week as determined by program needs, including supervision, consultation, or administrative duties.

Core Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in relevant field required.
• No previous experience required.

• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
