Location: Medical Center Office Building (901 7th Ave), First Shift, 40 standard weekly hours.
About the role
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow II is a member of the Research team responsible for the acquisition, rigorous analysis, and presentation of clinical and research data through statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. This individual designs experiments, collects data, tests hypotheses, builds models, conducts data analysis, and prepares scientific manuscripts and grants. In addition to advanced analytic skills, this individual is proficient at programming specialized software tools for the analysis of large datasets of clinical and research data. The role also involves providing technical, programming, and statistical consultation, guidance, and expert advice to students, research assistants, and Postdoctoral Research Fellows I. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow II serves as a resource for technical, programming, and statistical activities, maintaining an extensive working knowledge of methodological or conceptual developments in fields such as neuroscience, biostatistics, pharmacology, life sciences, and social sciences.
Responsibilities
- Design experiments and collect data.
- Test hypotheses and build models.
- Conduct data analysis using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques.
- Prepare scientific manuscripts and grants.
- Program specialized software tools for analyzing large clinical and research datasets.
- Provide technical, programming, and statistical consultation to students, research assistants, and Postdoctoral Research Fellows I.
- Analyze complex clinical and research data to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a postdoctoral position.
- Demonstrated expertise in data collection, data processing, programming, and statistical methods.
- Experience with the collection and analysis of complex clinical and research data.
- Proficiency in programming languages.
- Scientific productivity evidenced by at least two publications as first author in scientific journals indexed in PubMed.
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in a related field.
