Purpose Statement/Position Summary
The Research Post Doc Fellow is in training to develop the academic knowledge, research fundamentals, teaching expertise, and administrative experience necessary to become an exemplary researcher. They will perform laboratory work and conduct research activities independently or in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. Results will be published in scientific manuscripts and research publications. Participation in seminars, meetings, trainings, and other educational sessions is also expected.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
- Exposure to and/or experience in research in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience with animal models of inflammation, including in vivo models of colitis and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), and mouse colony management.
- Extensive experience in both basic and translational immunology research.
- Proficiency in in vitro T-cell functional assays, including CD4+ T-cell proliferation and suppression studies.
- Strong background in molecular and cellular immunology techniques, such as PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), and confocal microscopy.
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and bench research within academic laboratory settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- MD and/or PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree.
- PhD in Immunology (defended 2025-2026) preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification
- MD and/or PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree.
- Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree by their anticipated start date.
