Post Doc Research Fellow/Research Assistant

About the role

This temporary position supports the design and conduct of head and neck, lung, and breast cancer research at the Marshall University School of Pharmacy. The appointment is for an initial one‑year term, renewable for up to two years contingent on satisfactory progress and funding.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate experiments.
• Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
• Operate specific equipment and train or supervise research staff and students.

Requirements

• Ph.D., M.D., ScD, D.V.M., DDS, or equivalent in an appropriate field earned within the last five years (for Postdoctoral Fellow) OR a BS/MS in biological/pharmaceutical sciences (for Research Assistant).
• Strong interest in molecular oncology and molecular therapeutics.
• Solid background in pathology and cellular/molecular biology.
• Excellent scientific writing ability.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.

Pay

Salary range: $37,500 – $56,000 (commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity).
