About the role
Two postdoctoral training positions are available, beginning July 1, 2026, at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health under the mentorship of faculty conducting impactful, innovative, multi-disciplinary research in the environmental health sciences.
Responsibilities
- Helps design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career.
- Designs and evaluates experiments.
- Develops new ideas that promote current research.
- Publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
- May be responsible for operation of specific equipment.
- Teaches techniques to others, trains, and supervises research staff.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in Environmental Health, Toxicology, Epidemiology, Genomics/Bioinformatics, Statistics/Biostatistics, or other relevant disciplines.
- Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
- Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.

Pay
The position is a temporary appointment as a research trainee. The initial appointment is for one year, and renewal for an additional year is expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available. Positions cannot exceed five years.
Schedule
The position requires the associate to be present at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
