The fellowship follows a cohort model, allowing you to learn alongside interprofessional peers in a supportive environment.

The fellowship provides weekly collaboration with a psychologist and either an advanced practice nurse or psychiatrist, ensuring an interdisciplinary learning experience. Fellows work with a diverse client base to maximize learning opportunities.

Role Structure

The Post-DNP fellowship is a full-time, 1-year salaried position structured as follows:

• 0.2 FTE Training-Related Activities:
  • 1 hour per week of consultation with a PMHNP or Psychiatrist
  • 1 hour per week of psychotherapy supervision with a psychologist
  • 4 hours of consultee-focused case consultation per month
  • 8 hours of fellowship cohort seminar per month (including 1 hr/wk didactic seminar)
  • 1 hour of Grand Rounds per month
  • 2 hours per quarter of invited practitioner series
  • Ad hoc continuing education events
• 0.8 FTE Direct Patient Service:
  • 25.6 completed clinical hours (1536 minutes) per week, including a mix of 60-minute diagnostic assessments and 30-minute follow-ups
  • 2 hours per month of team meetings

Training outcomes are aspirational and depend on factors such as prior preparation, learning goals, and commitment to growth. The fellowship prepares you for independent clinical work post-licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric services, including diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, medication management, psychotherapy, and discharge planning
• Deliver individual, couples, group, or family psychotherapy as assigned by your supervisor
• Actively participate in individual and/or group supervision, case consultation, Grand Rounds, business meetings, and other required meetings
• Conduct at least two formal, scholarly presentations during the fellowship (one to colleagues and one to the public)
• Other duties as assigned

This is an in-person role with no on-call requirements.

Requirements

• A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DNP) in nursing from a regionally accredited academic program
• CNP and PMHNP designations in Minnesota prior to the start date
• DEA number and completed payer credentialing at Lorenz prior to the start date
• Availability and ability to work full-time in person

Pay

The fellowship offers a stipend of $120,000 annually. This reduced caseload reflects the role’s focus on learning and professional development. While not required, fellows are encouraged to apply for staff PMHNP roles at Lorenz after completing the fellowship, with a hiring range of $150,000 - $230,000 annually.

This position is based in the southwest metro area (Minnetonka, Victoria, Chaska, Prior Lake, Burnsville, Rosemount, and Lilydale), approximately 15-30 minutes from Minneapolis.
