Mercor is hiring music experts for a frontier generative-music AI lab, working in Portuguese.

About the role

This is a pilot role that requires 2–5 hours per week, but there is potential for expansion. High performers will be prioritized for future phases.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe melodies by ear with accurate pitch and rhythm
• Recognize key, tempo, and time signature
• Handle sung lyrics with strong fluency in Portuguese, including accents and less-clear delivery

Requirements

• Formal musical training or professional experience (degree in music or several years as a musician, composer, transcriber, engineer, or teacher)
• Strong fluency in Portuguese for handling sung lyrics

Qualifications

• Strong ear for music
• Fluency in Portuguese for singing lyrics

Skills

• Understanding of musical theory (key, tempo, time signature)
