About the role

Babel Audio is seeking professional Brazilian Portuguese-speaking voice actors for a solo performance project. Your performances will be used to train AI systems to better understand and express human emotion. This is interpretive, character-driven work that requires genuine craft, and we have structured this engagement to reflect that. You will receive a script and scene brief, study the emotional context, and deliver a performance that is true to the character and moment. The scenes are specific and emotionally rich. You might perform as:

• A bride, bidding farewell to her family on her wedding day, overwhelmed with emotion (Uma noiva, se despedindo da família no dia do casamento, tomada pela emoção)
• A father, holding his newborn child for the first time, overcome with emotion (Um pai, segurando seu bebê recém-nascido pela primeira vez, dominado pelas emoções)
• A shepherd, spotting a wolf in the distance, becoming alert to protect his herd (Um pastor, avistando um lobo à distância, ficando atento para proteger o rebanho)
• A doctor, with a heavy heart, delivering the news of a patient's passing to their family (Um médico, com o coração pesado, comunicando à família a notícia do falecimento de um paciente)
• A runner, after years of training, nearing the finish line and filled with emotion (Um corredor, após anos de treinamento, se aproximando da linha de chegada e tomado pela emoção)

Requirements

You must be fluent in Brazilian Portuguese with an authentic Brazilian pronunciation and accent. Professional background in voice acting, dubbing, narration, audiobook recording, or similar. Able to deliver expressive and engaging vocal performances across a variety of styles and emotions. Comfortable interpreting a scene brief and working independently with minimal direction.

Compensation

Remuneration is $120 USD per recorded hour. Additional performance-based incentives may be available.

Technical requirements

You must provide an external microphone and a pop filter or windscreen. The recording environment should be quiet and acoustically controlled. Stable internet connection is required for smooth audio recordings.
