Job Specific Working Conditions
- 10 hours per week for the first 3 months, then up to 20 hours per week based on fundraising goals.
- Personal Support goal of $1,000 per month.
YoungLives Coordinator Summary
- Serves according to mission leadership objectives, policies, and procedures to develop and sustain YoungLives ministries in respective areas.
Spiritual Development
- “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health, and church relationships.
- Develops a personal growth plan fostering a vibrant spiritual life, including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and a commitment to understanding God’s Word.
- Maintains relationships and disciplines within a church community.
- Participates actively in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Leads teams and individuals in spiritual development.
- Ensures all Young Life ministry in the area is designed and carried out with prayer as a foundation.
Leadership Development
- “Equipping leaders, committees, and staff” includes volunteer care, recruitment, team building, training, supervision, and vision casting.
- Meets regularly with mentors, childcare, and other volunteer leaders.
- Aids in recruiting and training mentors, childcare, and other volunteers to build leadership teams that reflect the community.
- Attends and participates in area leadership as assigned.
- Trains committee, mentors, childcare, and other volunteers on effective teamwork.
- Models excellence in contact work, clubs, Campaigners, and camps.
- Trains and leads a team of mentors, childcare, and other volunteers in developing a yearly ministry strategy.
Resource Development
- “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding), and TDS team.
- Raises financial support as directed and maintains good donor care practices.
- Communicates ministry updates and progress to personal donor partners.
- Develops strategic relationships with key adults in the community, including principals, pastors, parents, potential committee members, and more as assigned by the area director.
- Becomes a respected Young Life steward to the community for both kids and adults.
- Pairs with respective area director to build a sub-committee for YoungLives.
- Regularly communicates and participates with the local Young Life committee.
- Develops relationships with schools, teen parenting programs, crisis pregnancy centers, and other applicable community organizations.
Direct Ministry
- “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, clubs, Campaigners, and camps.
- Engages actively in all three levels of contact work.
- Ledges a team to plan and implement regular outreach meetings with excellence.
- Ledgers Campaigners meetings with excellence as assigned by the area director.
- Ledges a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy for YoungLives.
- Serves on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
- Serves on a summer assignment at a Young Life property, another Young Life camp, or in another position each summer as directed by supervisor.
Ministry Support
- Taking care of business includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management, and strategic plan.
- Adheres to all Young Life policies and procedures and maintains professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct, and time management.
- Maintains health and safety policies.
- Manages finances with stewardship, accountability, and transparency using mission-wide applications.
- Maintains accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors for area records.
- Provides clear, prompt, appropriate, and professional communication to everyone involved in ministry.
- Set yearly strategic ministry plans and initiatives to reach every kid; reviews them on a regular basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned and congruent with gifts, experience, and area needs.
- Accepts both short and long-term assignments of projects.
