Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end underwriting process for new and existing commercial and not-for-profit credit relationships, serving as the primary point of coordination with clients and internal partners.
- Analyze financial performance, cash flow, debt capacity, and key risks; develop and present independent credit recommendations.
- Structure credit facilities, coordinate due diligence requirements, and ensure compliance with credit policy and regulatory standards.
- Identify emerging risks and industry trends and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Accountable for managing an assigned portfolio by monitoring performance and trends, identifying issues, and driving timely remediation.
- Maintain risk rating integrity and oversee annual reviews, financial statement spreading, covenant compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage portfolio amendments, waivers, renewals, and modifications.
- Demonstrate a proactive, forward-looking approach to risk management through independent analysis, transparent communication, and collaboration with clients and business partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and a minimum of five years of commercial credit underwriting, portfolio management, commercial banking, or related financial services experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial credit products, credit analysis, loan structuring, covenant analysis and risk management principles.
- Experience analyzing financial statements, cash flow, and credit structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to effectively prioritize workload and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
