Portfolio Manager II
About the role
The Portfolio Manager II at Bank of Marin is responsible for managing the loan application process, conducting credit analysis, underwriting, documentation, and loan closing for assigned prospects and clients. They ensure their assigned loan portfolio is risk-graded and compliant, and they partner with the Regional Manager to provide quality service to clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage the loan application process, including credit analysis, underwriting, documentation, and loan closing for assigned prospects and clients.
- Ensure assigned loan portfolio is risk-graded and in compliance with loan agreements/approvals.
- Identify and address potential risks in the loan portfolio.
- Work with Credit Analysts to prepare loan packages and proposals.
- Coordinate with Credit Administration to document loans.
- Closely monitor the loan portfolio to identify risks and maintain updated loan files.
- Partner with the Regional Manager to provide quality service to clients by addressing their needs and inquiries.
- Work on moderate to complex portfolios and may require guidance from a more senior portfolio manager.
- Support the Commercial Banking Office under minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of accounting, financial accounting, and credit analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient in typing and computer skills, particularly in using Microsoft Office Tools and the Bank's current software system.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work well with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues making sound judgments.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and evaluate detailed and complex loan documents.
- Thorough understanding and familiarity of the bank's loan policies and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory and legal issues encountered in the completion and closing of complex personal and commercial loans.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial banking or related field.
- Experience with loan underwriting and documentation processes.
- Knowledge of deposit and Treasury Services products.
- Understanding of the bank's loan policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with regulatory and legal issues related to loan closings.

Pay
The hiring pay range for this position is $104,723 to $146,615. In addition to the pay range, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Schedule
The Portfolio Manager II position is expected to work on moderate to complex portfolios and may need guidance from a more senior portfolio manager. They work under minimal supervision while supporting the Commercial Banking Office.
