Portfolio Management Team Lead

About the role

The Portfolio Management Team Lead is an experienced commercial lending professional responsible for leading a team of Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts. They contribute directly to the loan portfolio by collaborating with Relationship Managers, overseeing loan analysis, underwriting, origination, and ongoing portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Lead loan analysis, structuring, risk assessment, and portfolio oversight.
• Manage complex borrower relationships, including C&I and real estate clients.
• Partner with Relationship Managers to develop lending proposals and identify cross-sell opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with post-approval due diligence and documentation standards.
• Maintain portfolio quality and credit metrics, leading regional portfolio meetings.
• Supervise, coach, and develop team members through talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and training.
• Monitor workflow, capacity, and team performance to meet production standards.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of commercial underwriting and portfolio management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

• Strong financial analysis, risk mitigation, and loan structuring skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service abilities.
• Ability to interpret financial reports and legal documents, perform calculations, and make informed decisions.
