About the role

The Portfolio Administrator supports a portfolio of businesses by soliciting and servicing prospective and current clients to develop and grow commercial banking relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the growth and development of assigned commercial loan portfolio by effectively managing client portfolios.
  • Effectively monitors portfolio for revenue opportunities and/or loan exposures.
  • Aids in the sales proposal process, including accompanying the lenders on customer and prospect calls and various other sales/customer-oriented projects.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with current and prospective clients; proactively identifies and recommends opportunities to cross-sell additional loan and non-credit products to clients.
  • Maintains portfolio loan exposure including reviewing maturity reports, overdraft activity reports, past dues reports, etc.
  • Ensures adherence to credit policy, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Works with clients to modify and/or restructure existing loans as needed.
  • Acts as a liaison between commercial loan officers and the Credit Department to expedite underwriting.
  • Helps resolve credit problems, delinquent payment issues, and other related affairs.
  • Prepares lending activity reports for management and loan committee as needed.
  • Obtains necessary information to process and complete loan files.
  • Aids in the preparation of Loan Presentation within loan origination system.
  • Creates and mails financial request letters; checks in and saves financials properly when received.
  • Acts as a liaison between Commercial Loan officers and the Credit Department to expedite underwriting.
  • Aids Commercial Loan officers with applications, HMDA, Beneficial Ownership, and CIP forms.
  • Examines documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with existing guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Calculates loan payments.
  • Ensures document and electronic credit files are complete, organized, and have no exceptions.
  • Aids Commercial Loan officers with examining loan escrow instructions, notes, preliminary title report, title policies, lien searches, deeds of trust, etc.
  • Orders flood certifications, credit reports, and UCC lien searches.
  • Gathers all proper identification for borrower and sets up CIF as required.
  • Reviews monthly CIP reports and makes CIF corrections as required.
  • Reviews and completes any items outstanding on monthly exception reports.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree preferably in business or finance; five to ten years of experience in a bank or lending setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of SBA lending and portfolio administration practices, including loan documentation, servicing requirements, regulatory guidelines, and portfolio monitoring activities.
  • Basic understanding of business operations, portfolio administration, and project coordination practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, communicate effectively, and provide quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes, and SBA-related requirements quickly while adapting to changing business needs.
