Porter Supervisor
About the role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Portering Supervisor to join our team at Perth Royal Infirmary. You will provide supervision to the Portering staff on a day-to-day basis to ensure an effective and safe service to wards and departments in the delivery and collection of meals, mail, specimens, stores, equipment, medical gases, clinical/confidential waste, and sundry items across the Perth Royal Infirmary site.
You will also be responsible for providing training, risk assessments, and the general portering service to wards and departments, responding to the needs of patients, visitors, and the general public.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Portering staff to ensure an effective and safe service.
- Oversee the delivery and collection of meals, mail, specimens, stores, equipment, medical gases, clinical/confidential waste, and sundry items.
- Provide training and conduct risk assessments for Portering staff.
- Respond to the needs of patients, visitors, and the general public.
- Achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.
- Comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
Requirements
- Ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
- Ability to follow instructions and possess good communication skills.
- Ability to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and cope under pressure.
Schedule
30.0 hours per week, Monday to Friday. There may be a requirement to work weekends.
