Porter (53264)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with building repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Sweep and mop all floors daily; spray buff floors weekly.
• Strip and wax all floors at least twice a year.
• Sweep and mop all stairs weekly.
• Thoroughly clean and restock all bathrooms daily.
• Clean the laundry room thoroughly once per day, or more if needed.
• Clean public spaces thoroughly once per day, or more if needed.
• Clean all glass surfaces daily, including lobby and management areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage, utility, and work rooms.
• Perform snow removal, sanding, salting, and scraping as weather demands.
• Prepare trash and recycling for pick-up on scheduled days; remove debris from all common areas and grounds.
• Keep halls and common areas free from obstructions such as garbage or furniture.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the compactor room and recycling rooms at all times.
• Remove graffiti from all surfaces within 24 hours during the week, or by the first Monday if it appears on the weekend.
• Maintain the parking lot and grounds daily, including trash removal and weekly sweeping.
• Maintain grass, apply fertilizer, weed killer, and seeding as necessary.
• Prune trees and shrubs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Appearance

The Porter is a visible staff member and must conduct themselves in a professional manner, exhibiting a professional appearance. Uniforms must be worn during work hours.
