Portal Mines - Underground Tireman (Tech 4 or Higher)

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Tireman I (Tech 4) in our Underground Maintenance department. Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%) that combined significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest gold‑producing complex in the world. NGM produces approximately 3.5 million ounces of gold a year, operates eight mines with associated infrastructure and processing facilities, and hosts three of Barrick’s Tier One assets: Carlin, Cortez, and Turquoise Ridge.

• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to run a test light or multimeter.
• Perform basic light vehicle maintenance.
• Install brake and front‑end components.
• Diagnose and repair TPMS systems.
• Dismount, mount, and balance light vehicle tires.
• Replace U‑joints and drivelines.
• Replace alternator and fan belts.
• Ability to operate boom truck.
• OTR tire experience + 3 years required (surface or underground).
• Ability to dismount and mount single and multi‑piece wheels.
• Ability to recognize damaged or worn‑out wheel components.
• Knowledge of tire classification; ability to identify basic markings on sidewalls (tire size, serial numbers, etc.).
• Ability to operate all hand tools associated with changing OTR tires.
• Ability to safely dismount and mount OTR tires.
