Portal Mines - Underground Mobile Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Works as a team member.
• Works effectively with other crews and departments.
• Consistently follows all safety and company policies and procedures.
• Maintains the ability to follow directions & to complete quality work.
• Maintains a high level of productivity.
• Pumps - Must be able to disassemble & reassemble the wet end of a centrifugal pump.
• Must know Pump Terminology & Component Identification.
• Must know how to properly set drive components.
• Shop Equipment, Tools, & Skills - Must be able to complete basic welding tasks.
• Demonstrate ability to use a drill press, grinder, hydraulic press/portapowers & impact tools.
• Basic Measurement tools (Square, Tape Measure, Level).
• Identify and read a bolt torque and drill & tap chart.
• Operate Overhead Cranes.
• Bearing and seal replacement and proper setting.
• Pipefitting and fabricating - Replace broken lines (HDPE, Steel, or Rubber lined).
• Repair/replace valves and clamps.

  Qualifications
