Portal Enrollment Specialist

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate respect for patient rights and provide considerate care focused on individual health educational needs.
• Create, train, and implement workflows, processes, and policies related to patient portal use.
• Provide technical assistance to patients with login or other issues and coordinate follow-up.
• Act as a liaison between patients and the patient portal on all levels of use.
• Respond to and appropriately forward patient messages to the correct department or party.
• Comply with federal and local confidentiality laws, including HIPAA, ensuring patient privacy.
• Adhere to Brown University Health guidelines and policies for protecting patient information.
• Work cooperatively and constructively with patients, co-workers, administration, physicians, and providers.
• Handle failed fax work queue as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, with some combination of college course work or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with PC software applications such as Epic, Word, and Excel.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
