Location: Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE) – hybrid / telework eligible (routine and situational telework authorized; facility space restrictions may require part-time or full-time telework). Must be able to obtain and maintain a TIER 2 non-critical sensitive clearance. Full-time position.

About the role

Knowesis is seeking a Population Survey Methodologist SME III to serve as the principal authority on survey methodology and measurement for large-scale Department of Defense (DoD) populations. This expert will lead the design, sampling, statistical analysis, and dissemination for crucial survey efforts, with a specific focus on the Health-Related Behaviors Survey (HRBS).

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level subject matter expertise on survey methodology and measurement for DoD populations.
• Advise on the design, implementation, and dissemination of large population-level surveys within the DoD.
• Apply demonstrated expertise in survey design, sampling methods, survey statistics, and interpretation of survey findings to support the execution of the Health-Related Behaviors Survey.
• Produce technical artifacts (e.g., reports, tools, briefings, presentations, and manuscripts) consistent with the PHCoE mission set.

Requirements

• Doctorate (PhD) in Epidemiology, Psychology, or a related field with a focus on survey methodology.
• At least 8 years of full-time postdoctoral work experience providing methodological inputs to complex multi-site surveys.
• At least 3 years of full-time postdoctoral experience leading large survey projects.
• Scientific publication record reflecting academic or federal research deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience navigating DoD survey licensing and regulatory approvals.
• Expertise in complex survey weighting and variance estimation techniques.

Pay

$120,000 - $160,000
