About the role

The Analyst’s primary responsibilities include: data collection, metric validation, performance and health outcome measurement, benchmarking, stratification, and visual presentation of analytic results. The Analyst is passionate about quality improvement and eager to collaborate with key clinical and business partners to identify analyses and reports needed to improve care delivery for our patients.

  • Report writing and dashboard development
  • Chart abstraction, measure development and validation
  • Ensuring accurate and actionable data reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaboration with analytic and clinical teams to demonstrate UCSF’s ability to improve population health clinical outcomes and healthcare utilization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • 3-5 years of data analytics experience in a similar academic medical center
  • Epic Clarity certification and database access
  • Advanced expertise in Epic clinical and administrative workflows
  • Quality improvement or patient safety, knowledge, and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HEDIS quality standards and other regulatory requirements
  • Advanced expertise in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint software programs or equivalents
  • Ability to run analytical (Excel and other) reports and summarize information
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage highly complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to produce and deliver presentations to diverse audiences
  • Advanced interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with managers, professionals, and technical staff
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Qualifications

Skills

  • Knowledge of evidence-based clinical processes of care related to timely preventive services for adults and children, chronic disease management, and reduction of preventable inpatient and ED visits
  • Advanced expertise in business intelligence functions, advanced analytics, industry standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of OMOP database including common data model and standardization of data content
  • Statistical knowledge
  • Demonstrated understanding of UCSF Medical Center operations and health policy trends

Pay

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

Schedule

The position is primarily remote but may require occasional travel to UCSF Medical Center locations.
