Pool Server (Seasonal)

About the role

The Pool Server position at Fairmont Dallas is a key role in our poolside service team. Fairmont Dallas, located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, offers 545 elegant guestrooms and suites, with over 73,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. This role provides an opportunity to deliver exceptional service in a vibrant and diverse setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding service to poolside guests, including menu items, beverages, and In Room Dining services.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck and guest amenities.
• Follow restaurant and pool deck policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Handle food and beverages safely and adhere to state liquor regulations.
• Assist other outlets and departments as needed.
• Respond to guest inquiries and complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Complete opening and closing side duties, including stock checks, setup, and cleanup.
• Input and verify food orders, process payments, and document orders.
• Document maintenance needs and follow the maintenance program.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
• Previous experience in food service industry an asset.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly responsible and reliable.
• Previous point of sale system experience an asset.
• Food handler & TABC certifications required.
• CPR certification an asset.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and work cohesively as part of a team.
• Focus on guest needs, remain calm and courteous.

Skills

• Customer service skills.
• Knowledge of beverage lists and preparation methods.
• Knowledge of wine and champagne selection.
• Knowledge of menu items and preparation methods.
• Knowledge of state liquor regulations.
• Point of sale system experience.
