POOL: RedTire Program Finance Analyst Student Intern
Position Overview
RedTire is a KU School of Business venture aimed at preserving small- to medium-sized businesses in Kansas and surrounding areas by facilitating their transition to new owners. The program relies on KU student interns for financial analysis and valuation modeling, providing hands-on learning opportunities and practical experience.
About the Role
The role involves assisting the RedTire Director in providing quality business and technical consulting to clients, while also offering an educational experience through real-world case scenarios. Students will work on-site at Capitol Federal Hall and receive a stipend during the initial training period.
Responsibilities
- Estrapolate raw financial data (from tax returns and company P&L's) into RedTire models (35%)
- Perform business valuation analyses using established models and procedures (25%)
- Help with industry, location, and market research/risk initiatives (15%)
- Assist with day-to-day administration of RedTire and help with leads for candidate businesses (10%)
Requirements
- Business undergraduate student with finance or accounting tracks OR MACC or MBA graduate student with finance
- Completion or concurrent enrollment in “Finance” - FIN 310 or “Honors Finance” - FIN 311
- Working experience in a Finance-related field from an external employer internship covering some aspects of working with financial statements and/or valuation methodologies (preferred)
Qualifications
- Enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours during the semester term of the appointment
- Enrolled in no fewer than 6 hours in the past spring semester or pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester or enrolled in summer session or admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester during the summer period

Pay
$10.25 per hour during the initial training period, with potential for wage adjustments based on performance.
