About the Role
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, clean athletic offices, pools, and facilities of an assigned school during an assigned shift; perform minor repair and maintenance and assure security of school during assigned hours.
- Knowledge of modern cleaning methods, including basic methods of cleaning and preserving floors, carpets, furniture, walls, fixtures, pools, and athletic facilities.
- Knowledge of cleaning materials, disinfectants, and equipment used in custodial work.
- Knowledge of safety practices and work methods, policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques, pool maintenance methods and equipment, and basic record-keeping techniques are required.
The ability to interact with the public is essential.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Two (2) years experience in the maintenance and operation of commercial-type swimming pools and related equipment.
- Any combination equivalent to sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above and one (1) year pool maintenance experience including pool chemical applications.
- At time of employment and maintained throughout employment, possession of a valid California Class C Motor Vehicle Operator’s license with a satisfactory driving record, possession of a current American Red Cross First Aid Certificate and current CPR certificate, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) is required.
