Facilities Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician at our Guardian Glass facility in Carleton, MI, is responsible for ensuring buildings, equipment, and grounds remain safe, clean, and fully operational through preventive maintenance, inspections, and repair activities.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Perform painting, cleaning, and general maintenance tasks
• Ensure work complies with all EH&S Performance Standards
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs

Requirements

• Experience working in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or relevant fields
• Experience with hand tools and power tools
• Experience operating heavy equipment machinery

Qualifications

• Understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and building mechanics
• HVAC Preventative Maintenance experience (filter change, coil cleaning)
• 5 or more years’ of experience working in an industrial setting
• Experience with general site safety
• Experience directing and managing sub-contractors
• OSHA Certification

Skills

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve facility-related issues efficiently.

Pay

Compensation range is determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.

Schedule

This is a day shift role, typically working Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
