Position Overview
A successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check. Appointments are one semester, renewable and subject to review, funding, and adequate student enrollment.
Job Description
- Plans, prepares and presents lectures for one or more undergraduate or graduate courses in information technology based on an approved course syllabus.
- Develops and grades assignments, projects and exams.
- Supervises course projects and in-class lab sessions, evaluates student work, and provides feedback to students. Maintains office hours as necessary to meet students needs.
- All instructors are expected to collaborate with colleagues, be current in the field, and are required to adhere to department, school/college and university policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline. A Master’s degree in other fields may be considered if combined with two or more years of professional experience directly relevant to the teaching assignment.
- At least two years or more practical experience in Information Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned Doctorate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
