Instructor Pool- INFORMATION SYSTEMS

About the Role

The College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse maintains an ongoing pool of potential instructors for program needs. If hired from this pool, the instructor will be under the general supervision of the relevant department chair and will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Information Systems.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
• Prepares for and holds classes (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online)
• Maintains currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment
• Evaluates students' work, assesses student outcomes, and provides regular and substantive feedback on student work
• Maintains appropriate records and holds office hours
• May involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department
• Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree, or, in rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a baccalaureate plus experience, can be established as appropriate qualifications for the teaching position
• Depending on the program, specific certification/licensure or clinical experience may be required

About the Department

The College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse includes six academic departments and the Small Business Development Center. The CBA has over 3,000 students enrolled in one of the eight majors offered. It also offers seven minors and participates in the UW System's online MBA consortium.
