POOL - Instructor - Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
About the Role
The University of Kansas Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) seeks qualified individuals to serve as instructors for its online Master of Science in Educational Leadership program, which prepares pre-K-12 teachers for building-level leadership roles and Kansas licensure. This is an adjunct, non-tenure-track instructional position for the Fall 2026 semester, with appointments made as needs arise throughout the year. Renewal is based on unit needs, funding, and performance, not to exceed two continuous semesters.

Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in online courses including grading assignments, providing timely feedback, and mentoring students on performance improvements
- Hold consistent virtual office hours with students in both asynchronous and real-time formats
- Successfully implement course protocols as designed by the instructional design team and course author, including learning objectives and procedures for online platforms
- Update and maintain assessment protocols to document student-learning outcomes
- Consult and collaborate with department staff about research-based changes to courses
- Maintain clear records of all evaluations of student work and progress toward program completion
- Collaborate with colleagues and stay current in the field
- Adhere to all departmental, school, and university policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Earned master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or other field appropriate to subject area being taught (for undergraduate courses)
- Earned doctoral degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or other field appropriate to subject area being taught (for graduate courses)
- Record of research, scholarship, or achievement in Educational Leadership or closely related field
- Excellent written and verbal skills as evidenced in published academic work, interview, and course evaluations
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in successful Educational Administration/Leadership
- Demonstrated success teaching fully online courses in an equivalent graduate program
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching the relevant course content
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology applications specific to online program environments including asynchronous course management systems, advisement, and learning management systems
Pay
$4,600 for a three credit hour course.
