About the role
Perform comprehensive sleep disorder evaluations, including polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, and patient education.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze patient information
- Verify documentation and physician orders
- Prepare and calibrate testing equipment
- Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies (CPAP, BIPAP, MSLT, MWT)
- Perform CPAP downloads
- Document sleep stages, clinical events, and procedural changes
- Maintain sleep systems
- Score polysomnography records and generate reports
Requirements
- Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
- State licensure
- Completion of an accredited educational program
- Maintain credentials through ongoing education
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Complete mandatory abuse reporting training within three months of hire
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist or Neurodiagnostic Technologist
- BRPT eligibility within 24 months
