About the role
Location: Waco, TX | Facility: Ascension Providence | Department/Specialty: Sleep Lab Ambulatory | Schedule: Night shift | PRN
How you'll make an impact in this role
- Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies
- Prepare patient and equipment for ordered testing
- Interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures
- Perform and document testing
- Monitor patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues
- Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; score, interpret and report results of sleep studies
- Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment required for testing
- Determine and report needed repairs/replacements
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following required:
- Cert Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Reg Polysomnographic Tchnlgst credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Respiratory Care Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- RRT Sleep Disorder Specialist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
Qualifications
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
