About the role
The Polysom Tech position involves performing diagnostic sleep procedures per physician orders and established protocols. Duties include setting up the lab, preparing patients, conducting and evaluating polysomnograms, scoring sleep staging, assisting with data tabulation, and monitoring/adjusting equipment.
Responsibilities
- Reviews the patient’s history, verifies the medical order and determines the testing parameters/procedures.
- Selects appropriate equipment and calibrates for testing.
- Performs sleep study and documents routine observations.
- Implements appropriate interventions during the study as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Oregon State Polysomnography License or Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist within 12 months
- AHA BLS within 30 Days
Preferred
- Experience working in a sleep disorder center
- ACLS
- PALS

Pay
The posted compensation range of $31.05 - $42.67 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

Thorough knowledge of sleep monitoring equipment, ability to maintain skills through education, participation in quality assurance under Sleep Lab Manager supervision, ensuring diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.
