Careers

Political scientists frequently work as educators and as policy analysts for government, international business, labor, and political or professional organizations. They gather and analyze information to plan and interpret policies. Most political scientists - about 63 percent - work for the federal government. You may want to specialize in an area of politics. Politicians rely on teams of expert analysts and consultants to fill in the gaps of their election platforms. You may also study the hidden psychological elements of politics to become a powerful advisor. Businesses conducting operations around the globe utilize analysts to help navigate foreign governments and regulations.
