Biology (A.S. Emphasis)

About the role

Biologists study living organisms and their relationship to the environment, spending a great deal of time researching in a laboratory setting. They may also focus on developing new products, working with engineers, business managers and other scientists to find cutting-edge scientific solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in a laboratory setting
• Develop new products and solutions in collaboration with engineers and other scientists
• Field work outside the classroom to identify flora and fauna of different biomes
• Examine population growth, resource allocation, and pollution in environmental science courses
• Engage in interdisciplinary projects with other scientists and professionals

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Strong academic performance in biology and related sciences
• Pass a background check
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Completion of an associate’s degree in biology or a related field
• Experience in laboratory settings and fieldwork
• Knowledge of scientific research methods and data analysis
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Pay

Salary range: $45,000 - $60,000 annually

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
